RIP

ok. they have finally actually REALLY buried Michael Jackson's body.

Exactly ten weeks after he was found dead, and more than enough hullabaloo over his final resting place, Michael Jackson was finally laid to rest last night, Sept. 3, with a private ceremony at Glendale, California’s Forest Lawn Cemetery.

Some 200 friends and family members attended the 90-minute, evening funeral, which concluded with the King of Pop entombed in Forest Lawn’s Great Mausoleum, the final resting place of Walt Disney, Clark Gable, Jean Harlow, W.C. Fields and other Hollywood legends. According to a statement from the Jackson family, Michael’s five brothers Tito, Jermaine, Randy, Marlon and Jackie all served as pallbearers.

Elizabeth Taylor, Jackson’s ex-wife Lisa Marie Presley, Stevie Wonder, Macaulay Culkin and Quincy Jones were among those in attendance. Michael’s three children – Prince Michael, Paris Michael and Prince Michael II – placed a crown atop Jackson’s casket, “to signify the final resting place of the King of Pop,” according to a family spokesman.

According to the Los Angeles Times, the Glendale police established a security cordon, blocking off streets around the 300-acre cemetery and relegating the sprinkling of fans who showed up to positions behind barricades a couple of blocks away.

A dozen fans held up a banner reading “King of Pop Michael Jackson Gone Too Soon.”

After the service, the family released a statement, saying, “Michael Jackson reached his final resting place tonight at 9:43 pm PST in The GreatMausoleum at Glendale Forest Lawn Memorial Park.”

michael jackson memorial

Maybe now, they’ll leave you alone Michael.”-Marlon Jackson

"Ever since I was born, Daddy has been the best father you could ever imagine.”-A sobbing Paris Katherine Jackson

i won't sit here and tell you i was michael jackson's biggest fan, or that i have every one of his albums and have been following him since birth. i will however say that i know michael jackson was, and in death will be, one of the most powerful men this earth has seen. his music brought people together and put others in a happy place. he may have had this ups and downs over the last few years, but michael has had a tough life from the start, and today al sharpton really hit the nail on the head when he told mj's kids "wasn't nothing strange about your daddy.it was strange what your daddy had to deal with
."

although many may say it was over the top, i believe that todays memorial service was one fit perfectly for the caliber of someone like michael jackson. thousands of fans filled the staples stadium, plus millions more who watched worldwide. the performances were breath taking and the speeches were tear jerking, especially that of little paris jackson.

dear michael, may you now and forever rest in peace and watch over your beautiful children. you're legacy will forever live on.

breakin news

According to online reports, grief-stricken hard core Michael Jackson fans are taking their own lives. At least 12 fans have reportedly committed suicide across Europe:
Gary Taylor, president and owner of MJJcommunity.com, says, “I know there has been an increase (in deaths), I now believe the figure is 12. It is a serious situation that these people are going through but Michael Jackson would never want this. He would want them to live.
“They (fans) can’t accept it, they feel in some sort of different reality. I’m stunned that he’s dead. One minute he is coming here for concerts and the next he is gone. I think the funeral will be where the reality kicks in that he is gone and won’t be coming back, there will be a huge depression in the fan community when that happens.”And Jackson’s political activist pal Reverend Jesse Jackson has even recorded a message to his fans, urging them not to “self-destruct” in the wake of the singer’s demise.
Jesse Jackson says, “This is a time when hearts are heavy. There is great pain but great cause to celebrate Michael’s life. It made Michael happy saying ‘We Are The World’. Don’t self-destruct. We fall down sometimes, we get back up. That’s the right thing to do. In Michael’s name let’s live together as brothers and sisters and not die apart as fools.”Thousands of Jackson fans are planning a vigil on 13 July (09) at the O2 Arena in London where the star was due to kick off his 50-date comeback tour.
